What a piece of JUNK! -- These are problem HDTV's
Pros
You have got to be kidding..
Cons
Stay away from JVC products!
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
My final recommendation is to stay away from JVC products.
After having my JVC HDTV for only eight months it was time to replace the light bulb. When I bought the TV the dealer said that the bulb would last about 2years or 6000 hours. TRY 800 hours and 8 months. Lucky for me it was still covered by JVC.
Now at 16 months the light engine is out. I have big red and green bloches on one third of my screen. Seems this is a big problem with these tv's as if you google this problem you will find that many people are having the same thing going on.
Contacting JVC they claim it is a rare problem. What a joke. It is a very common problem according to my dealer.
The bottom line is that JVC wants $1,200.00 for the part and there is about $300.00 labor to install it. So who wants to pay $1,500.00 for a repair on a $2,000.00 TV?
These TV's should be recalled and fixed by JVC but the JVC Consumer Affairs dept just tell you " you should of bought the extended service plan".
I now know the the "J" in JVC stands for JUNK!
Excuse me now while I drag this piece of junk to the curb.
