The HP Photosmart 7350 is another Great Printer for Digital Photos!

Pros Great Photo Quality, Print photos without a computer!
Cons It is a little slow on printing!
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  A very reasonably priced photo printer that is made with the digital camera in mind!
The HP Photosmart 7350 is a new design and look for the PhotoSmart series printers. They still produce an excellent photo quality and now print borderless on the 4 x 6 inch HP paper with the tear off tabs. Also new are more memory card slots plus you can print directly from some HP digital cameras.

~~~ Print From! ~~~
Memory Card Slots
The HP Photosmart 7350 has four memory card slots to serve just about all the cameras out there except the CD ROM ones.
There is a slot for CompactFlash Type I or II cards including the IBM Microdrive.
There is a slot for SecureDigital or MultiMediaCard.
There is a slot for SmartMedia cards.
There is a slot for Memory Stick cards.
The printer will only let you use one type of card at a time. Insert a memory card and the monochrome LCD on the printer will show you how many photos are on the card. Print a thumbnail sheet on an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of paper and see up to 63 thumbnail photos at a time with the assigned number from the camera. By using the assigned numbers you can easily print your photos without having to use the computer. You can if you wish, select All Photos and it will print all the photos on the card without the use of a computer.
When the printer is connected to a computer though a USB cable, then the memory slots act like a card reader to your computer. This is like a removable drive and is great for deciding on which photos to keep and the ones to delete.
A HP PhotoSmart Camera
HP has a line of PhotoSmart digital cameras like the PhotoSmart 812 that can be connected directly to the printer. The camera should have a USB cable made for connecting to the printer. The plug-in for this can be found on the bottom right front of the printer just blow the memory card slots.
The Computer
For me the best way to print them is still through my computer because I can see the photos more in detail on my 19" Sony Trinitron monitor.
Through the computer you have so many more options on what you can do with the photos.
~~~ Paper Trays ~~~
The PhotoSmart 7350 has a tray that holds 100 sheets of 8.5 x 11 inch paper and a tray made for 24 sheets of 4 x 6 inch photo paper with the tear off tab. There is a tray slider to use when you want to change back and forth from each tray. If the tray slider is in the wrong position for the printing then the computer will let you know to change it.

~~~ Differences ~~~
The PhotoSmart series from the P1000 to the 1315 were a two tone color of the upper part being dark gray and the lower part being a light gray. The PhotoSmart 7350 has an upper part in a silver type color and the lower parts and trim in the dark gray.
The PhotoSmart series from the P1000 to the 1315 printed at max 2400 x 1200 dpi and the PhotoSmart 7350 prints at a max of 4800 x 1200 dpi.
The PhotoSmart series from the P1000 to the 1315 left about a ? inch border around the 4 x 6 inch prints while the PhotoSmart 7350 prints borderless or leaves a border, your choice.
All of the PhotoSmart series from the P1000 to the 1315 had memory slots for SmartMedia and CompactFlash cards while the PhotoSmart 7350 adds slots for SecureDigital or MultiMediaCard plus a Memory Stick slot.
The PhotoSmart series from the P1000 to the 1315 has two cartridges, one black and a tri-color. The PhotoSmart 7350 comes with a tri-color cartridge and a three color photo cartridge. If you print a lot of documents then you can replace the photo cartridge with an optional black cartridge.
~~~ My Tests ~~~
First of all I'm not even going to mention their print speed specs because they are always in the draft mode and not the real world mode that we use.

I printed 5 borderless 4 x 6 inch prints and the printing time was between 2 minutes and 15 seconds to two minutes and 46 seconds. So lets say it takes two to three minutes to print a 4 x 6 inch borderless photo.

I printed an 8.5 x 11 inch (bordered) photo and it took 6 minutes and 57 seconds from start to finish.

I printed these using the supplied tri-color and photo cartridge.

~~~ Overall ~~~
The PhotoSmart 7350 is the start for the replacement of the earlier PhotoSmart series printers.
Do they print any better? I couldn't see any difference in quality from my PhotoSmart 1215, they both produce a beautiful photo print.
The PhotoSmart 7350 has a retail price of $249 which is a good deal considering what it has to offer. The software that comes with it is easy to use and understand.
I wouldn't go out and buy this one if you have an older PhotoSmart series printer, now if you don't own a PhotoSmart printer, then this beauty is made for you.
