Pros a big flashy "show off" printer, seems to do everything you need.
Cons too many cartridges (high price), not reliable, too slow.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  I highly not recommend the R800, it's a waiste of time and money.
I had the Epson R800 for about 3 weeks now, and I want to sell it, I've been reading reviews on digital photography sites about how great a photo printer this is supposed to be, unfortunately, It is a bit of a disappointment to see that although of all the cost involved this printer still fails to deliver the quality print it claims to, I took it back to the shop and they said "head needed cleaning", and that they'll fix it... sure enough when I collected it back, the result i got was a bit better, but not to a level of a "GREAT PRINT" let me explain exactly what I tried.

to test it I started with several professional digital photos from an advertising agency. Midtones print ok, but the highlights and the dark tones vary from ok to poor with smudges here and there..... that is so strange. I had to edit the photos in PHotoshop to assign the value of black to the K solely, otherwise it will print a shade of brownish gray, for blacks, remember those were photos by an advertising agency so they were of extrememly high resolution, my photography director agrees too, you can see the banding in the photos even from a distance... boring inkdots appear promenantly. Too many ink cartridges that seem to be used in the same time, it is deadly slow, I worry sometimes about printing, I have to plan my printing it really sucks in this aspect... even for the smallest photo sizes.
