Epson Perfection is aptly named
Pros
Very easyto use, excellent scan quality
Cons
None that I have come across
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Highly recommended because it is easy to use for those who need simplicity, but has a range of features available for those who want them.
Never having used a computer scanner before buying this one, I was a bit apprehensive about the possibility of having to spend a lot of time learning how to use it. No worry! The installation was extremely easy, and the software makes scanning almost anything a snap. The scanner is fast and almost silent and the accompanying software allows you to do scans in full automatic mode for the easiest method for those of us who aren't computer whizzes, but also allows use of a professional mode for those who want to tweak things a bit.
I really like the fact that you can get the output directly in a variety of formats. Documents can be scanned directly to a PDF file, while graphics can be scanned to JPL, BMP or TIF graphics formats. The software also allows you to scan multiple pages one after another, but giving you the option of keeping the pages as separate documents or linking them together inmto a multi-page PDF document.
Depending on the resolution you need for your document, the scanner has four levels available, which of course also affect the scanning speed and the resultant file size.
This is a flatbed scanner, so it does take up a bit of space on the desktop, about 18" long by about 11 inches wide and 3 inches high.
All in all, this is an excellent piece of equipment and one that I recommend highly.
