Pros Picture quality. Software. Price. Design.
Cons Low speed. Minor color shifts of dark and mid tones.
Recommended it? Yes

The EPSON PERFECTION 1250 scanner is for you if you are willing to have good quality of scans and know basics of image editing and retouching.
I chose this scanner over the HP 4400c and Canon N1240U that were on the same display at the local CompUSA for the next reasons:
HP 4400c is the... Read full review »

Pros Price; design; scans well
Cons Corners cut; manual; no on/off switch
Recommended it? Yes

This review gives my early, 24 hours out-of-the-box impressions. Overall I?m very happy to endorse other reviewers? praise of the actual scanning quality, which seems fine so far. However one quite major reservation is that there seem to be a lot of waits while ?Scanner warming up? messages... Read full review »

Nice scanner for a good price

byrandfan Dec 28, 2002

Pros Easy to operate and nice quality scans
Cons It's not suited to all applications
Recommended it? Yes

I'm writing this from the "non-tech" point of view. I purchased this scanner to use at home and in my home/office. I didn't want to spend a lot, and I might scan on average of 3-5 pieces a week. This scanner meets those needs.

The Epson was easy to install and connects to the computer... Read full review »

Good scanner for the price ($99)

Pros Fairly quick Good resolution for the price
Cons Color is off. Using auto levels in PhotoShop dramtically improves the image.
Recommended it? Yes

I've had this scanner for a few months and have scanned several photos. I purchased it to replace an aging UMAX that over the years had lost its color accuracy. Here are my impressions:

Pros:
1) Scan time is reasonable. Crank up the resolution and it's slow, but that's to be... Read full review »

Good scanner. A little tricky though

bysmash360 Feb 13, 2006

Pros very high resolution and quality. Very easy to use with XP.
Cons Long worm up periods, sometimes needs to replugged, hard to use with Win98
Recommended it? Yes

I like this scanner. It really gets the job done. It copies at very high detail and very high resolution, so it will accomplish whatever you need. To this day, I don't know what the four buttons on the front do, they seem to work directly with the software that came with it. I don't use the... Read full review »

Pros Easy to use, Great images, Great Software, Good price
Cons This scanner doesn't have a direct ON/OFF button, but this is note necessary
Recommended it? Yes

This is a great scanner, that comes with great software like Arcsoft photo impression, Film Factory, Epson photo print, very easy to use. When you launch an application it opens directly the Smart Panel Window, and then you choose how to manage the image you want to get. It has great compatibility... Read full review »

Pros Easy to install, decent photo editing program, includes slide scanning device.
Cons None found so far
Recommended it? Yes

I bought the Epson Perfection 1250 as an afterthought. The day before I had purchased another scanner which didn't seem to work at all and had to be returned. I did some research and found that most users who bought the Epson were generally pleased with the performance, so I bought one, too. It... Read full review »

Perfect scanner for home use

bydextron Jul 20, 2002
4 Helpfuls 5 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Easy installation, fast scanning, good color reproduction, cheap.
Cons Software has some oddities.
Recommended it? Yes

Installed it on Windwos Xp. Was easy for both 1.1 and 2.0 USB. 2.0 may require updated drivers from Epson web site.
Did not hang, but for extremely high resolutions (files >200M) it may be useful to save after each scan, because all work goes into single file in the C:\Program... Read full review »

A Waste of a Good Scan

byejwestlake Apr 5, 2003
5 Helpfuls 6 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Good scan. Good price.
Cons Lousy tech support. Lousy software. Can't run in OSX.
Recommended it? No

It really, really, really, really, really sucks that epson doesn't have an email address to write for tech support. First I have to suffer with the sub-par software, then I send in a check for the OSX driver offer only to have it returned because the box has been closed, then when they finally do...
