Junk in my opinion
Pros
None.
Cons
I had two machines, neither worked properly. Overheats easily.

No
The Bottom Line:
Spend the extra money for a better brand.
This will be a very short review as my experience with a WORKING Cyberhome 1600 is very limited. I purchased one in May '05 at my neighborhood Best Buy.
I tried to transfer footage from my DV Camcorder, but ran into problems right away. The machine must format the DVD+R disc before anything can be done. Fine, but the machine I purchased kept stopping at 99% formatting and would never finish. I must have tried this process a dozen times, and it never finished formatting, therefore I could never record or transfer anything to DVD.
I brought the machine back to Best Buy and brought home another of the same machine. This machine finished the formatting and I was able to transfer my DV footage to a DVD+R, and the footage played back fine on the DVD+R.
I was only able to make two DVDs, then the 1600 stopped recognizing blank DVDs, constantly giving me the message "No Disc" when there was clearly a disc put in the machine. I even updated the firmware hoping this would fix the problem, but it did not. So I was only able to burn two DVDs, and now I am stuck with just a DVD player.
Those problems aside, this machine does not have a fan built in and gets pretty darn hot.
My recommendation is DO NOT buy this machine. Spend a few extra dollars and get a better brand. I was impressed with Cyberhome's $40 DVD player; I own two of them. But I am very unimpressed with the 1600 DVD recorder.
