Pros Windows CE, powerful, versatile, cheap, CF sleeve, expandable, audio/video features
Cons Windows CE, lack of software, B&W screen, size
Recommended it? Yes

I'm back again reviewing yet another PDA that I've added to my collection... how could I not purchase another PDA, especially a Pocket PC one at under $150. It was time to see what the current Pocket PC models could do especially since I could get one at a bargain basement price.

My iPAQ 3135 is more than just my Palm m100 replacement PDA. In just one short week it has become my brushed metal, monochrome screened, portable computing companion. In my pocket now resides a mini-PC?it is truly a Pocket PC. The operating system from Microsoft, the latest of the Windows CE line... Read full review »

Best Bargain Among ALL PDAs

Pros Microsoft family, compatibility with MS products, expandability, audio/voice capability,...
Cons Black&White screen, small memory
Recommended it? Yes

I had been evaluating PDAs for several weeks, reviewing every scrap of info online and asking friends. Based on that research, I decided that the MS Windows CE operating system was definitely the way to go. Palm OS is useful for what it is designed for - primarily personal information management... Cons 16MB RAM does not hold many MP3s

I purchased my iPAQ 3135 in August 2001, and have been using it daily ever since. This was my first PDA, and I have been very pleased with it. Rather than rehash the specs (which are listed in other reviews you can read here), let me just tell you what I like and what I don't like about it.

Refurbished and reflashed

Pros Cheapest way to run Microsoft Reader for PPC 2.0
Cons Greyscale, backlight not automatically controlled by PocketPC 2002 software
Recommended it? Yes

I really only care about one feature of PDAs: reading e-books, especially Microsoft Reader format e-books. I'm obsessed with electronic books, and MS Reader is definitely one of the best programs in terms of screen legibility. Until recently, however, the number of titles available for the PocketPC... I recently purchased the Compaq iPaq H3135 and I love it!!! As of yet I have not used the sync feature but if the rest of the device is any indication, this should be a snap as well. I bought the 3135 with the CF (Compact Flash) jacket a 40 dollar value. It came with a lot of software pre-installed... Read full review »

Pros Many applications in a well designed package. Easy to use and sync with a PC.
Cons Battery not removable, needs a separate module where to insert e.g. extra memory etc.
Recommended it? Yes

iPAQ gives you almost everything you might need while on the road. You have your MS Office compatible applications, Media Player for MP3 and video plus lots more. Personally I enjoy the calendar and contacts portion the most, because its easy to use, always up-to-date and you don't have to look at... Read full review »

Pros low price, good battery life, expandability
Cons bulky, have to use expansion slots even for simple stuff
Recommended it? Yes

I pity all those who still use Palm PDAs. Except for a very strong anti-microsoft feeling, I don't see any other justification for using those lowly Palm units.

The Good:
I particularly liked the H3135, despite the lack of a color screen (all color PDA screens suck anyway). This PDA... Read full review »

When I first decided that I wanted a Palm Pilot I knew my choices were many. I had thought that I wanted a Palm with Palm OS. However, I got the iPAQ 3135 for Christmas and kept it.

The iPAQ is an awesome little machine. When you first take it out of the box you can find that it looks... Read full review »
