Casio EX-S600 Not a good choice

The pro to this camera was its size.
Cons
VERY breakable, easily damaged, expensive repairs.

The Bottom Line:
Absolutely do not buy this camera. Breaks easily, expensive to repair, breaks quickly, does not last.
I'm a definite photo enthusiast and am so disappointed with the Casio EX S600. The main problem, as other reviewers have stated, is that the camera easily turns itself on & when it powers up the lens automatically comes out--bumping anything it's near and causing a "lens error.' (In this situation the camera even managed to turn itself on inside a hard shell camera case--it's VERY sensitive.) I have been able to fix most electronics myself, but this one seems impossible.
Other reviewers have mentioned that only Casio can repair Casio products. The Casio repair center is ridiculously expensive, making it not worth it to repair this error. The repair estimate is $39.99-#119.99. (That's quite a range! But, that's as specific as they'll get until they send you the final bill.)
The picture quality without the flash in good daylight was good, but other than that--not good at all. Pictures with a flash were washed out and pictures with the other settings during any time other than optimal, natural light, were often blurry.
The size of the camera made it very portable, but it's so incredibly sensitive that taking it on the go is impractical. It's easily damaged through even the most gentle of normal use.
I've tried Kodak, Canon, Casio, Nikon, etc. So far my favorite cameras have all been Canon cameras. I'm absolutely sold on that brand--the picture quality and durability.
