When is the last time anyone in civilized society has used a scanner? I mean, paper pictures? Slides? Negatives? What in the world are those?? Anyone who was born before the year 2000 has photo albums, photo boxes and storage that requires no electricity, computer or batteries!

Great Bang for the Buck
My best friend bought me this scanner for Christmas, after I researched some models and let him know which one to get. I picked this particular model because of the low price, high resolution, and because it is a flatbed scanner that can also handle negatives.

great scanner for the price
I've owned multiple scanners, and this is my second Canon scanner. I use it both at home and in my classroom. I've owned the 4400F for about a year now (and have it in my classroom for about the same time), so after a year I figure I can give a pretty good review of it.

In the last two weeks started getting very grainy scans from time to time and lots of cooties (artifacts)... Read full review »

Great if you're a Windows user
As someone else has said, this is a great cheap scanner - for Windows. Don't bother with the bundled software; just use Windows' camera & scanner wizard. But for those of us who use Linux by preference it makes a fine paperweight. Totally useless. When will manufacturers smarten up and make their... Read full review »
