Those Who Do Not Understand History...(Background)

The Canon A630 is yet another entry in Canon's long running and very successful A-series camera line. Since I had good luck with my previous generation A75, I decided to stick with the A series. The A630 offers a number of features that... Read full review »

I started taking digital photos when I was sent a Canon A100 camera from Epinions as a holiday gift three years ago. That camera has started me in a new world of digital image taking. My wife is also very much involved in making photos of the family, our vacations and also with a photo club in... Read full review »

Cheaper than the last year's 7.1-Megapixel Canon PowerShot A620, the Canon PowerShot A630 features 8-Megapixel resolution, larger LCD screen and other improvements yet sells for substantially less. Once it became available, I bought one.

I liked the performance of the A620, but disliked... Read full review »

I was heartbroken when my family and I went to a baseball game, and after setting my Canon Powershot S3 IS camera on the edge of my seat, it fell down from the stand and at least 4 feet onto the cement, smashing the lens and zoom on it, shattering the body, and basically the camera died that day. I finally broke down and bought another digital camera. The first one I got mainly to use on auctions on ebay because my scanner had broken. This was back in oh, I'd say 2001. A whole 2 megapixels. (Playskool kiddie digital cameras have more than that amount of megapixels now.)

I decided... Read full review »

Nice backup camera when SLR is too bulky to use

I bought this Canon A630 to back up my Canon Rebel XT dSLR - both are 8 Mpixel. The A630 was intended for situations that didn't require the dSLR attributes - low light, lens interchangeability, bulkiness, and most importantly: the rapid shot-to-shot capability.

The Canon A630 is an... Read full review »

I've had experiences thus far with a few digital cameras, and this one so far is my favorite.

Last fall I was frustrated with my Kodak EasyShare digital camera. It's not that Kodak makes bad cameras, it's just that mine was low end, with poor battery life and no optical zoom.
