Pros Awesome quality. No power cable. Slim. Z-Lid. Easy to use. Reliable.
Cons Not Blazing Fast. No Slide Scanning. May be too good/$$$ for the average consumer.
Recommended it? Yes

You can?t go wrong with this scanner! My new scanner just blows my old scanner out of the water. The term, ?you get what you pay for? couldn?t hold truer. My old scanner cost $30, and it was a bulky dinosaur that took forever to scan a document. The CanoScan N1220U cost me about $170 at Costco... Read full review »

Pros compact, quality scans, easy to use
Cons Only USB compatible, a bit pricey at $199.99
Recommended it? Yes

You say you're looking for a "decent" scanner. Well, you're barking up the wrong tree because this thing is FANTASTIC.

Nowadays, scanners can be had for under $50 bucks. Pretty amazing, but you get what you pay for. The cost of the Canon CanoScan 122OU is a bit pricey at $199.99, but it... Read full review »

Pros Space Saving Design, Fast, Easy to Use.
Cons None.

Like a 16-year old boy, I wondered if Mrs. Right would ever
come along. Sort of. Not really caring Who but kind of
looking them all over.....

Most were cumbersome.

Mentally slow.

Definitely overweight.

Some were huge.

Very few had modern... Read full review »

Pros Slim, cool looking, fast
Cons Nothing
Recommended it? Yes

I actually got this scanner for Christmas this year. I wanted this model because of several things. Size, Scan Resolution, USB and least importantly it just plain looks cool.

It is only about 1" tall, 14" Deep and 10" Wide. You only have to hook the 1 USB cable to it for power and data... Read full review »

Pros Takes up little space, high-quality scans, great software!
Cons Haven't found one yet!
Recommended it? Yes

A solution to our problem:
I work for my college newspaper and handle most of our purchases. One of our best purchases was this CanoScan N1220U. The first reason I chose this product was that our office was messy. As a matter of fact, our office was so messy that it took a friend and myself... Read full review »

Canon 1220U is amazingly small and light

byCreamChief Oct 20, 2000
15 Helpfuls 16 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros slim, light, single cable
Cons USB only
Recommended it? Yes

When I first opened the box, I was astonished at how slim and light the scanner is. How could Canon possibly make a quality scanner so sleek? Even though the scanner is very small and light, it is not flimsy. The construction is actually good quality.

We really needed to find a scanner... Read full review »

Pros Slim, low space design.
Cons Slow high resolution scan.
Recommended it? Yes

This scanner is very convenient with it's single USB cable hook-up design. There is no power cable. Another thing that makes this scanner nice is the size of it. It is 10 1/8 inches wide by 14 3/4 inches deep and 1 1/4 inch high in the normal sitting position. This scanner did come with an optional... Read full review »

Pros VERY SLIM!!! Easy to use durable.
Cons Only uses USB. But, what scanner now doesn't?
Recommended it? Yes

I bought a Canonscan N1200U scanner to go with my camera, as I thought that it would be cheaper to buy a scanner, than a whole new digicam.
Why Canon?
Well, I have a Canon camera, so why not? The scanner was said to have 1200 by 2400 dpi resolution and to be for Mac only. What? Only Mac?... Read full review »

Pros slim design, gives good images
Cons only one button, speed is average
Recommended it? Yes

The Canon CanonScan N1220U is a 42 bit 1200 by 1200 dpi scanner. The best feature for this scanner is the slim and stylish design. You can turn this machine on the side (with a plastic stand) and it does the job.
It is only one inch thick and weighs about 3 pounds. The CIS technology makes it... Read full review »

UPDATE- 10 Dec 07 - Just hooked up the old CanoScan to the new Acer Laptop with Vista home basic. I had to manually extract the drivers (Vista kept giving me errors about needing some device overwrite permission), pointed the program file where to look (temp file) and the scanner was up and running...
