VPN Nightmare
Pros
Nice LCD User Interface.
Cons
VPN (IPSec) Passthrough not working.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Not recommended, if you need to VPN through the firewall.
Purchased the product a week ago.
Very exciting, it looks sleek and signal is strong.
Configured and Connected to the net in no time flat.
Problem started when trying a connection to company VPN server, using a Cisco client.
N1 Vision did not allow the VPN traffic through the firewall. (even thought the OLD OLD Linksys router which it replaced, allowed IPsec Passthrough just fine).
Emailed tech support twice. And Called twice.
The answer was different almost every time:
a. open ports on the firewall for your VPN (twice)
b. IPsec Passthrough is and always-ON setting in this model
c. disable the firewall altogether
a and c are not an option (DHCP and I sure as heck won't take down my firewall so I can get hacked to pieces)
b. Is the correct answer (also according to);

but still no cigar and there are no competent techs at Belkin it seems.
They all told me straight out flat: "we are here for BASIC support only". So am stuck with no VPN tunneling on what is supposed to be a top-of-the-line Belking product.
Not happy with the product, not happy with the company, even though the product may be good or a patch soon on the way - noone able to convey the details of that to the consumer.
